JOKE F, A HALF-SISTER TO THE INTERNATIONAL SHOWJUMPERS FUNKY MUSIC AND QUARTS-MUSIK

Joke F’s sire, Toulon, is a supplier of outstanding showjumpers. In 2007, the BWP ambassador Toulon was laurelled as “Horse of the year”, thanks to his brilliant international performances in partnership with Hubert Bourdy: first place in the São Paulo GCT Grand Prix, second place in the Spruce Meadows GCT Grand Prix, second place in the Rome nations cup, fourth place in the Valkenswaard GCT Grand Prix, fifth place in the Arezzo GCT Grand Prix and ninth place in the Cannes GCT Grand Prix. In partnership with Wilm Vermeir, Toulon won the silver medal at the 2008 Belgian championship showjumping. Toulon was successful in the showjumping world at the highest level. Toulon’s descendants inherite his showjumping qualities and character. In the international showjumping scene many descendants of Toulon play a leading role, amongst them Elky van het Indihof HDC (Kevin Staut), Falco van Spieveld (Cameron Hanley, Geir Gulliksen and since 2017 Nicole Walker), IQ van het Steentje (Wilm Vermeir), Dr Max Think Twice 111 Z (Radovan Sillo), DM Jacqmotte (Wilm Vermeir), Irvine Ter Doorn (Ann Carton-Grootjans) and many others.

In professional journals and magazines, authors underline the importance of the dam lines. En general, some lines produce better showjumpers of sports horses than other lines. Joke F’s dam line is such an example of a highly valuable line. Her dam, Lhasa, produced two outstanding showjumpers, namely Quarts-Musik (jumped at five-star level, in partnership with Gilles Bertran de Balanda) and Funky Music (for many years successful in showjumping tournaments, under the saddle of Ann Carton-Grootjans). Quarts-Music and Funky Music are not the only feat of arms of Lhasa. There are several promising youngsters, amongst them her seven-year-old son Krapuul F.  In partnership with Nicola Philippaerts, Krapuul F celebrated this year several victories and honourable placings in international showjumping competitions for young horses at 1m35 to 1m40 level. Krapuul F’s full sister, Kelly’tje F, also performs at showjumping classes for young horses, under the saddle of Marco Debolini.Via several of her daughters, Lhasa is the grandmother of some international performers, including Air Power van ’t Laerhof Z (Werner Dierckx and Wilm Vermeir), Bretling du Paradis Z (Rik Hemeryck), the approved stallion El Torreo de Muze (Bernardo Alves), E-Muze Yek (performed at five-star level, in partnership with Darragh Kerins) and Fortis Fortuna. Under the saddle of Daniel Coyle, R-Muze Yek’s half-sister, Fortis Fortuna, is collecting victories and honourable placings at international five-star showjumping tournaments. Fortis Fortuna produced Sea Coast B52 F Z, a successful international showjumper, in partnership with Gudrun Patteet.
