HORSEMAN ELITE AUCTION BIG SUCCESS!

Sep 8, 2018

Both the prices and the atmosphere were more than good at the 17th edition of the Horseman Elite Auction. With buyers from all over the world, such as Spain, Poland, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Mexico and Ireland, the total average price amounted to 16,000 euros.

For 38,000 euros the skewbald mare Swarovchiqui van de Lentamel became the most expensive foal. This daughter of Diamant de Semilly x Toulon moves to the German Petra S. 'It's my dream to start a breeding farm with skewbald horses,' Petra explains. 'In the beginning of the year I already bought a skewbald colt by Utah de la Roque out of a special dam line in Portugal. The search for an exceptionally skewbald filly was a bit harder, until I was introduced to the Horseman Elite Auction by an acquaintance. I already became a fan when I saw the pedigree, but once I had looked up the dam line I was completely sold. The horses from this line perform more than promising in the sport! ' Still horses are only a hobby: 'We have six broodmares but unfortunately we did not have any foals this year, so we bought some at auctions. For us this is the most expensive foal we have ever bought, but hopefully she will help us build our dream,' says a satisfied Petra.

The second most expensive foal was also generously sold. Sagrance L3B moves to France for 34,000 euros. This daughter of Bisquet Balou comes directly from the tribe of Fragance de Chalus.

Spike van het Oosthof moved for 30,000 euros to the English Home Farm. This son of Cornet Obolensky comes from the same dam line as Carvagio Z, who jumped at 1m60 level with Philipp Weishaupt.

The broodmares also sold well. The first lot, the full sister of Air Jordan Z, was sold in foal by Levisto Z together with her filly by Levisto Z and got knocked down for 30,000 euros. The second most expensive mare was Eloise EH Z. This 6-year-old daughter of Emerald van 't Ruytershof is a daughter of Eloise de Semilly. She is in foal to Cornet Obolensky and got sold for 22,000 euros.

There were also many well-known buyers in the audience. For example, foals were sold to Olive Tree Farm and the families Spits, Van De Poel, Van Turnhout and Spiessens.

The average price for the embryos was € 23,000. The broodmares sold at an average of 15,000 euros, while the foals raised an average of 14,500 euros.
