QUALITY WELL REWARDED AT THE 24TH EDITION

The 24th edition of the Horseman Elite Auction was a great success Saturday night. The carefully assembled collection of foals was snapped up eagerly in a very welcoming hall, with buyers from home and abroad seizing their opportunity and many breeders able to head home satisfied. The colt Double Spot (s.Heartbreaker) fetched the top price of €26,000, making him one of the highlights of the evening.
Once again, sport and breeding came together in fine style at the Azelhof in Lier, where the Horseman Elite Auction was staged during the international show. This also prompted international riders and renowned owners to make their presence felt, bidding enthusiastically in the filled auction hall on the Belgian talents of the future. There was brisk bidding and buying online as well.
Heartbreaker blood in demand
Buyers from countries including Mexico, Kazakhstan, Estonia and Poland came out on top at this auction. Double Spot, a colt bred from the rock-solid Van 't Roosakker line, fetched the highest price, while the Heartbreaker daughter Harmony AEG Z was the best-selling filly at €19,000. The fact that Heartbreaker blood remains clearly in demand in 2026 also led main sponsor Lux to invest in a foal descended from this outstanding sire. Other foals also attracted strong bidding; for example, the Candy de Nantuel foal Dominanté from the Equilaurhoeve sold for 22,000 euros.
The evening had also got off to a fine start with the successful sale of the piebald pony foal Darling van de Moortelshoeve, whose entire proceeds go to charity. MS Liga Vlaanderen thus received a generous donation of €3,900.
Highly satisfied
The organisers are therefore very pleased with this edition. Thanks to the commitment of breeders, bidders, sponsors and volunteers, the Horseman Elite Auction stands firm, and that was proven once again Saturday night under ideal conditions. That provides an excellent springboard, with next year's anniversary edition on the horizon.
